Clifford the Big Red Dog^TM visits the Byesville Scenic Railway

On August 8, 2010, PBS's Athens TV station WOUB joined with the Byesville Scenic Railway in bringing "Clifford The Big Red Dog^TM" on board for an educational train ride. Denise Birchfield from WOUB's Center for Public Media read to over 160 participants on the gratis train ride as each child got to visit with Clifford on the train. The free event was open to the public and is part of PBS's educational "Ready to Read" program which promotes family time and literacy. Each family received a packet of reading material as an additional incentive to read more often. According to Denise Birchfield this was Clifford's first train ride and it was very successful.
